With a breeding history dating back to 1960 and a female flock of over 500 head, Kentish Downs has been able to select from a wide base of proven genetics.

Kentish Downs females are fertile, easy to manage, functional, efficient and a high milking ability. The stocking rates at North Billabong and the need to minimise the amount of time spent handling sheep puts a lot of selection pressure on the stud flock hence the females must be efficient to produce commercially viable progeny.

Selection comes from strong female family lines that have proven themselves over many generations and continue to provide commercially functional sheep.

A very important focus of the stud ewes is to have clean points, large frame and good on their feet.
